Dateless

Dates mean nothing. The poems are just ordered as I please. I believe I still have a mostly accurate account of dates elsewhere.

"Beneath the sun"

 Beneath the sun

Hidden in the depths of shadows reigns the flower gold

Aching just to see the light, the flower does unfold

The sense of its disorder that conflicts with senses bold

Leaves the flower's beauty still in shadows, still untold

The thought of un-deservedness is shadows, nothing more

See the glimmer of the light 'tween shadows left before

Within the shadows, comfort reins, obscuring all above

Confusing all the meaning and intent of one whose love

Is aching for the chance in life to bring the bloom away

From shadows that impede the blooming joy in every way

The glimmering of flower seen in words within the song

Heartening the notion that brief light has come along

The one whose love is aching for the flowering to bloom

Has lost his chance interpreting entendres in the gloom

The ache to think that flower will return to dark of night

Rends the heart immeasurably in pain and endless fright

Did this heart begin to bring the light to heart of one

To brighten it in loving ways revealed beneath the sun

The never-ending question lost in depths of dark and gloom

A backward step is taken just to leave the flower room

To let the flower gain the light of warm and gentle sun

A hand held out remains for the encouragement of one

But heart is stilled

Emotion filled

Until the flower opens just a little more to say

The hand is welcome in the gesture that it does convey
