Dateless

Dates mean nothing. The poems are just ordered as I please. I believe I still have a mostly accurate account of dates elsewhere.

"Truth"

Truth

As the morning turns to fall

I find the answer that I always knew

I'll love you right or not at all

You certify the answer remains true

I'd like to say

It is my way

But, that would be the greatest nonsense of all time

To think that I

Hold more than sigh

Is nothing but the barest nonsense set in rhyme

I've struggled on

From dusk to dawn

Only since you would not have it any other way

Make no mistake

I know the quake

If heart's desire were served before the day

That doesn't mean

My heart's not keen

To have you, even though I know the score

That life with damaged love is such a bore

That skin on skin is wonderful

But, not enough to light the dull

Long years of love gone wrong

You know it's not my will or way

With slightest impulse, I would stray

Into your arms, forevermore

It's you that I adore

In pain until the door

Is opened wide

And, in, with loving stride

We move on through the ages

It seems a conundrum, it's true

For I must find the way on through

It still is just because of you

You keep me going on until it's true

I have to laugh as I did not ever realize how appropriate the title of this collection was.  I did not intend it to mean an avalanche of poems but there you go.

But, the real point is that I know it (and hate it), that I have to go it alone one more time.

"Weather Gauge"

Weather Gauge

The wind has whipped around, again

Midst force of will and driving rain

The hurricane has found a home, once more

As, now, I step on through the open door

I sense the weather move as it is changing

As all of life, once more, is rearranging

There is one weather gauge that I do treasure

That wilding sense of life for which no measure

For all the heat and wild emotion's pressure

Her smiles still crystal clear and ever fresher

All Her aches and all Her pain

Produce in me a hurricane

Without the slightest feeling of remorse

That hurricane is set upon a course

To rip apart delusions held

All false reality be felled

The force of hurricane

Blast the needless pain

And fury of the storm

Does, then, begin to form

Into something human

You are my only gauge that showed the way

Through deep and pensive thought to smiles' array

"The Flame"

The Flame

A water drop from fountain spills across

Its shimmering and gleam creates a gloss

As spreads across the pool at fountain's base

Creating many ripples that erase

Upon its entry into pool below

A plume of mist creates a certain glow

Mingled plumes become as one

The glory brief beneath the sun

Never was my spirit broken

Only silent; now it's spoken

Of nascent note and key that love fulfills

In  symphony of human life

To strike away the needless strife

To see what love instills

For many years I sought the key

To bring to life the harmony

To filter through the misery

Personified in songstress, She

Holds the smile apart

From all the pain that goes on in Her heart

The spell She cast had willed the start

Of journey long

Her song is played in key of heart
